Is This Vegan? is a free checker for foods, ingredients, products, brands and additives. You can search by name, paste an ingredient list into the Product Checker, photograph a label with the Label Scanner, or look up additive codes in the E-Number Checker. Each result gives a clear verdict (Vegan, Not Vegan, May Be Vegan or Depends on Brand) with an explanation and evidence where available. When an ingredient's source is unclear, as with E471 or lecithin, the site says so instead of guessing. There is also a database of ingredients, foods, brands and restaurants, plus guides on hidden animal-derived ingredients and how recipes vary by country.
