A closer look

Turn raw footage into a playable rough cut and reshape the story by beat, clip and word, in your browser. FirstCut is a browser-based narrative editor that turns raw footage into a rough cut you can watch, built for video where the story lives in what people say. Your first minute Drop in a recording. Your browser pulls out only the audio for transcription, so there is no long video upload. Write a short brief: how long the cut should be and what it is for. Get a first cut made of beats and clips from your own footage, and press play. After that Reorder beats, cut single words, or ask for a change in plain language. Every change is a revision you can return to. When the story works, export a timeline to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or Avid and finish there.
